Reviews about Chùa Quán Sứ

BrockDaBadger:
This pagoda has some history and is just around the corner from the Hoa Lo Prison (aka the Hanoi Hilton). When I arrived I could hear chanting and when I looked inside there were probably 40 Sangha monks chanting. Small area but a pleasant and free attraction.

This is an 17th century temple with an entrance gate in Hà Nội. It was built by visiting Buddhist ambassadors who called on the then emperor of Việt Nam. It is reportedly the central HQ of Buddhism in Việt Nam. It is an active temple số there will be many worshippers paying homage here. A quick stop , maybe 30 minutes. It is not a complex such as the Temple Of Literature or the Lama Temple in Beijing. Went in
March, 2013.

A beautiful temple which is very peaceful once you enter. Not that big but very nice statues and ornaments here. A lot of locals using this temple for offerings and prayers. Still monks and nuns living here. Is called the Ambassadors pagode because in the earlier years it was a guesthouse for the ambassadors of the Buddhist countries. Worth a stop..
